What should I check before choosing this mould or kit?
Check the product details for Silicone Chess Board Mould Epoxy Checkers Game Board Mould for for Resin Casting, DIY Jewelry Making, Crafts Projects, including the listed design, dimensions and pack contents. Where moulds and accessories are offered as separate options, select the option needed for your project.
How do I choose a suitable casting material?
Use the materials specified in the product details and follow the casting material manufacturer’s instructions. Check mixing ratio, pour depth and curing requirements before starting; a mould’s size does not determine a resin’s maximum pour depth.
When should I remove a resin casting from the mould?
Follow your resin manufacturer’s demoulding instructions and allow the casting to cure sufficiently before removal. Curing time depends on the resin and working conditions.
The moulds were easy to use, just remember to squidge the chess pieces before fully filling them to help prevent bubbles getting trapped. The tricky part of the board was pouring enough to fill the square but not so much it spilled over! Would be great if the chess pieces moulds came with more than just 1 pawn as it is going to take a while to complete.
