Brush latex is a moulding compound based on pre-vulcanized natural rubber latex. Pre-vulcanized latex is recommended for mould production as it only requires drying to give a strong elastic film. The high solids content and viscosity properties are suited to brush application without the occurrence of runs and sags. Brush latex films, characteristically exhibit low shrinkage rates and fast drying times. Intricate models can be reproduced in exact detail and moulding latex will not separate on standing.
I've been wanting to cast some of my 3D prints, and this seemed a good way to 'intro' me into this rather than investing a huge amount in 2-part silicon, etc, etc, etc.
It's a lot of fun, brushing on layers and making molds, and will be even more fun now I know to expect the lovely smell when I next open the container. Hahaha!
Thank you again for the very quick service and delivery (and great product).
I'm brand new to making dioramas and other small props, and I purchased this to coat tree trunks I've made of wire. Works great! My first time working with rubber/latex so I have nothing to compare it to but it does exactly what I want it to do.
